ASUS OS Issue

Recommended Posts

Bukcherry

I have bought used an ASUS R417M just as a backup laptop . The Windows 10 reset got interrupted , it was first saying there was an error with the install , now that error message has gone and it's just bringing up the ASUS splash screen every 5 seconds or so and not opening windows .

I have been into the BIOS menu and set the defaults but it's not doing much . I have no disc or anything .

Not sure anyone knows how to fix it ?

Na it's either BIOS or the splash screen . To enter safe mode in windows 10 you need to be in windows 10 .

Jeez it's almost like I fixed that by myself .

Just had to find out that the last OS was Win10 and DLd from Microsoft , no need for a key either . I never knew you could burn ISOs to Flash Drives though .

Thats correct. Windows 10 (and 8 i think) installs are tied-in to your hardware. If for some reason you have to reinstall/clean install you won't need a key since its embedded in the nvram of your UEFI/BIOS.
